Break Down Barriers
In some, the number of barriers is minimal while in others there are many. Not having enough quality people is almost always the most prevalent barrier. In order to become a high profit company it takes high performing people. However, in most businesses, there just aren't enough of them. Other barriers include, but are not limited to, bad processes, ill-defined plans, and negative perceptions about your business, lack of customer-orientation, money and lack of cost controls. These barriers can usually be overcome with some hard work and a sound approach. Which of these (or others) barriers exist in your business? Take an "inventory" of potential barriers to success. You might be surprised at how many exist in your company.
